Good News! The Cabrillo Park Neighborhood Association (CPNA) has been officially accepted by the Gifts to Share (GTS) organization. Incorporated in 1985, Gifts to Share, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization supporting the City of Sacramento's park and recreation facilities. The nonprofit is accepting charitable contributions for the renovation of Cabrillo Park Pool.
Many potential donors prefer to give their money to 501(c)3 organizations to ensure their donations are spent honorably. Plus, GTS will provide reporting of revenue and expenses so we'll be able to keep track of our progress.
There are two ways to donate money through GTS:
The first is to send a check or money order. Make the check out to "Gifts to Share/Cabrillo Pool" and mail it to:Gifts to Share, Inc.c/o Department of Parks and Recreation915 I Street, 3rd FloorSacramento, CA 95814
Or you can donate online with a credit card or through PayPal at: http://www.giftstoshareinc.org
Thank you for donating!
The Cabrillo Pool has been closed for three years now. Initially, the pool was closed due to budget cuts. Operating the pool (and others like it throughout the city) was deemed to be too expensive as compared to other expenses in the city's budget. Most people agree that keeping public safety needs at the top of the list of budget priority, but we've missed our pool. Now, three years later, the pool has been found to be in disrepair.
Friends and Neighboors please help us raise awareness that our community pool has been closed for three years. Our neighborhood association is looking for volunteers and ideas. We need your help to work with the City of Sacramento to come up with the funds to fix our pool.
We are exploring multiple options such as pancake breakfasts, raffles, and even a walk to raise money towards fixing the communtiy pool. But we need you, our neighboors and friends most of all.
Please join us on National Night Out August 6th from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Cabillo Pool for a pot luck.
